 Coronavirus (COVID-19) Important information

Current Update – May 7th

Provincewide Restriction: As of Sunday, May 9th at 11:59 pm, outdoor sports and recreation, including golf, is limited to members of your household; or if living alone, to two close contacts.

When booking tee times from May 10-31 you are acknowledging

that you fall under one of these 2 categories:

Members of the same household


* If living alone, you may play with 1 of 2 close contact (same players for all rounds during these restrictions)


  1. The golf course will run as 2 separate 9 hole courses starting Monday, May 10th.
  2. We will be allowing 9 holes to be booked to start and you may play a second 9 if there is something available upon completion of your first round. 
  3. When you are finished your round, you are encouraged to stop by the clubhouse for takeout, but then must leave the premises.
  4. We are only accepting 2-somes or singlesSingles may not book with other singles
  5. Booking as singles: Equity members can book as a single 7 days out. Annual members and Public can book singles 3 days out.
We know this is not an ideal situation, but we must play the hand we have been dealt. Please understand this will only work if we follow the rules set out for us. Anyone caught merging groups while on the course will lose their booking and playing privileges for the remainder of the time these restrictions are in place.

We are looking forward to another SAFE season at The Canal at Delacour Golf Club.  We will update our COVID-19 policies and procedures frequently to ensure we can provide you with a memorable and SAFE experience, while you enjoy all that our club has to offer.

We are operating the golf course with the understanding that all members, guests and staff will work together in an effort to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19.
Your safety and the safety of our employees is always a top priority here at the golf club.
It is of extreme importance that everyone follows the mandatory AND recommended safe practices and procedures below.

Alberta Health Services Mandatory Procedures

To protect yourself and others:

  • Practice physical distancing (6 feet distance at all times).
  • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your elbow.
  • Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid travel outside Canada.
  • Watch for COVID-19 symptoms: cough, fever, shortness of breath, runny nose or sore throat.

Follow mandatory self-isolation requirements:

  • 14 days if you recently returned from travel outside of Canada or are a close contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, plus an additional 10 days from the onset of symptoms, should they occur, whichever is longer.
  • 10 days minimum if you develop any COVID-19 symptoms, or until the symptoms resolve, whichever is longer.


  • All essential turf care protocols will continue and be updated to ensure the long-term health and survival of the property.
  • All staff are following the AHS mandatory procedures and providing additional cleaning and disinfecting.
  • We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and make any adjustments as they are required or as determined by government restriction adjustments.


First and foremost, the safety of our Members, Guests and Staff is our number one priority.

We will be implementing, and strictly enforcing measures and precautions throughout the property, as recommended by the Government of Alberta, Alberta Golf, PGA of Alberta, NGCOA, ASGA and Alberta Health Services.  We appreciate your patience and understanding during these trying times.

WHAT TO KNOW:  Prior to Arriving at the Golf Course:

  • Provincewide Restriction: As of Sunday, May 9th at 11:59 pm, outdoor sports and recreation, including golf, is limited to members of your household; or if living alone, to two close contacts.
  • Online booking are available.  2-somes or Singles only.  9 holes only to start.  
  • Online power cart booking is turned off.  You may pay for power carts at check-in in the Pro-shop.
  • If you are sick or not feeling well, DO NOT come to the course. PLEASE STAY HOME!
  • Arrive no more than 20 minutes prior to your tee time.
  • The Driving range is currently closed.  When the Driving range opens it will be only for golfers warming-up (small basket) prior to their round.
  • We have spaced out our tee times (10 minutes) to reduce the number of people at the golf course at one time.  
  • The  Clubhouse and Patio will be closed as of Sunday, May 9th.  The halfway house is open for takeout only with a limited menu.
  • Our staff are trained to recognize the symptoms of COVID-19 and know how to act responsibly if they detect or exhibit symptoms.  Our staff has full authority to direct those who ignore our Covid-19 rules to leave the property.
  • Leagues have been modified to accommodate all restrictions and mandates. 
  • Some member events and corporate events are cancelled or rescheduled.

WHAT TO KNOW:  Upon Arrival at the Course:

  • Please avoid parking immediately adjacent to another vehicle, where possible. Avoid other patrons arriving or departing.
  • Maintain Social Distancing of 6 feet.  It will be strictly enforced on the property.
  • After you park your vehicle, please approach the pro-shop and speak to our starter.  Our greeters will direct you how to proceed.  Our Starter will provide you with information on how to play safe while on our property and they will answer any of your questions.
  • Maximum of 4 guests in the pro-shop at one time.
  • The Half way house window is open for take-out orders.    The beverage cart will be available on course with limited days and hours.
  • All power carts are sanitized prior to being lined up in the staging area with 6′ distance between carts.  Sand bottles will not be available.
  • Self serve scorecards and pencils have been eliminated.  Please ask your starter for a scorecard and pencil.
  • Please use the hand sanitizing stations around the facility and on the golf course if required.  Bring your own sanitizer or purchase some in the pro-shop.
  • Touchless, cashless or online prepayment is our preferred type of payment.
  • Golfers are asked to handle their own clubs for the duration of their visit.

WHAT TO KNOW:  While on the Golf Course:

  • Golfers must comply with all marshals/greeters’ directions.  They are there to assist you and everyone else in STAYING SAFE for the day.
  • Flag sticks and cups will be sanitized daily.  However, DO NOT TOUCH or REMOVE the flag stick.  
  • All on course ball washers will be out of service until further notice.  Benches have been removed.
  • Rakes will not be provided for bunker raking at this time. Please do your best to smooth disturbed sand with either your shoe or golf club.  Local Rule in effect for bunkers during this time will allow you to improve your lie if in a disturbed area.
  • Do not pick up your playing partners clubs or ball during the course of play.
  • We ask that you please refrain from the traditional hand shake or hugs at the end of your round.  OBEY THE 6′ RULE AT ALL TIMES.
  • We look forward to providing you with a safe and enjoyable experience, but it requires that EVERYONE does their part while on our premises.
  • Our staff will be monitoring our guests at all times to ensure social distancing measures and other COVID-19 guidelines and procedures are being followed.

WHAT TO KNOW:  After your round

  1. If you are using a power cart or pull cart please remove all your own garbage and recyclables and return the carts to designated areas.
  2. Put your equipment back in your car immediately.
  3.  We do not allow gatherings anywhere on the property.
  4. Please visit the halfway house for takeout and  leave the premises promptly.


We will have a zero tolerance policy in effect!


Fines for violating a public health order have been doubled ($2,000 per individual). First
time offenders could be fined up to $100,000

The “Fairways at Delacour”

The Fairways at Delacour – Residential Development Plan

In 2003 the ‘Canal at Delacour Golf Club’ was approved by the Municipal District of Rocky View and the course officially opened for play in 2005.

Since that time the course has received such prestigious honors as being nominated as one of the best new golf courses in Canada and is recognized by Calgary area golfers as one of the best golf courses in the Calgary region.

Now that the vision of the golf course has been achieved, the introduction of the ‘FAIRWAYS AT DELACOUR’ residential development surrounding the course is the next step.

2021 Staff Updates

Scott Fraser –  Director of Operations

Scott is in charge of all golf course operations including pro-shop,  food and beverage, and outside services.  Scott is also responsible for golf course finances and will manage the management team.

Bob Davidchuk – PGA of Canada Head Professional

Bob will share management of pro-shop, back shop and outside services teams.  Bob is also responsible for coordinating league play, providing golf instruction, website maintenance, and member and guest services.

Jay Tonks  – Golf Course Superintendent

Jay is in charge of golf course maintenance, managing the turf care team, and maintaining playing conditions.  Jay is also responsible for managing the maintenance team.

Todd Vadnais – Executive Chef

Todd is in charge of clubhouse operations, menus, food quality and clubhouse supervision and service.  Todd is also responsible for managing the clubhouse team.

Jenn Fraser – Administrative Assistant

Jenn is in charge of member accounts, daily pro-shop reconciliations, and will assist with pro-shop supervision.

Mark Terstappen (Big Zeek) – Associate Superintendent

Mark is returning and will assist Jay with all golf course maintenance.

Kyle Miller – Head Teaching Professional

Kyle is coming back this year to offer a variety of lesson programs and quality instruction to our members and guests.
